Welcome to the Boost Initiative!

Our mission is to ensure that vital community needs are met, even when traditional support systems change. By partnering with funders, health systems and community organizations, and public health professionals, we bring expertise and resources together to fill critical gaps and keep essential programs moving forward.

We Fill Gaps in Public Health

We are helping displaced federal workers support vital community programs—like health education, screenings, and preventative care. Join us in making a difference – whether you’re passionate about community health, looking to collaborate, or want to support our mission, there’s a place for you with the Boost Initiative.

The Boost Initiative bridges the gaps by connecting three key groups:

Public Health Professionals

Public Health Professionals

Skilled experts from federal government roles who want to continue contributing their passion and expertise during this time of disruption.

Health Systems & Community Organizations

Health Systems & Community Organizations

Partners who need support for prevention and health promotion programs facing reductions, cuts and limitations in underserved areas.

Funders & Community Leaders

Funders & Community Leaders

Those ready to step up and fill gaps that have opened in their communities where vital programs have been reduced or eliminated.

Our Work

We bring people together through free networking meetups where public health professionals can connect, share ideas, and hear from community health leaders about ways to meet this moment and fill gaps in local communities. Whether you’re a recently transitioned civil servant, work in academia or private industry, or are simply passionate about community health, our events create space for collaboration and connection.

Through our Collab Workshops, we reimagine and strengthen health programs to boost their outreach, effectiveness, and impact. Our collaborative sessions help improve programs with enhanced recruitment, retention, and measurement strategies. We then connect these enhanced programs with funding and expert implementation support.

By leveraging the talents of displaced professionals and connecting them with community needs and generous funders, we ensure that vital programs don’t fall through the cracks as the landscape shifts. We’re working to keep essential health initiatives accessible to communities who rely on them, while creating meaningful opportunities for public health professionals to continue their important work.

The Boost Initiative is hosting meetup events and collaboration workshops for people across the public health sector to come together and hear from each other about this unique moment, and to discuss how we should fill gaps in local community health spaces.

We’d love to hear from you!

Whether you’re interested in joining our efforts, partnering on community projects, or just learning more about our work, your ideas and enthusiasm are key to our mission. Let’s keep vital public health programs accessible to communities across the nation—together.
